Hair of the Dog

mescal on their lips / head in the clouds / they live by the hair of the dog

I dream of a group of men / on the road again / riding atop a Falcon

This collection were inspired by my father’s adventures as a ‘Falconeer’ in the 1980s. He and his friends drove thousands of miles through Mexico on roads less traveled in a 1965 Ford Falcon. I transcribed a selection of their stories and adapted my own characters from them. I chose to create my own vehicle and cast of adventurers lead by a dog god to embark on an adventure. The costumes were an exploration of materiality and storytelling through textiles.
